The original AE109 introduced in 1996, and used to be praised for its nice efficiency and high construct quality. Over two decades later, Acoustic Energy has introduced the new AE109 floorstander, the flagship of the new 100 Series. And it seems to be each inch as good as its predecessor.
So what's new? It features Acoustic Energy's WDT waveguide tech, as observed in its recent AE1 Active. An evolution of the DXT lens, it reshapes the excessive frequency sound-wave to support imaging and supply a much broader listening zone, making the sound more room-filling.
